Fresh off his Louisiana primary win Saturday,
Rick Santorum was the only presidential candidate to take to the Sunday morning airwaves. He was on
CBS’s Face the Nation talking about delegate math and a look ahead to the Wisconsin primary next week. An interesting moment came when he described the potential reelection of Barack Obama as the “end of freedom as we know it in America.”
While President Obama has a lot of work to do, particularly in terms of civil liberties and national security, in reality, Santorum is the only candidate who continues to strike out in every single civil liberty category that
ACLU Liberty Watch is tracking in our Candidate Report Cards. Santorum wants to continue racial profiling and allow voter suppression, wants to restrict women's reproductive rights, ban openly gay and lesbian service members… you get the idea.
The end of freedom as we know it? Perhaps.
