Freedom To Marry For Gay Couples

The government cannot violate the right to privacy by dictating who we can marry, and must adhere to the Constitution’s equal protection clause – the 14th Amendment – by allowing same-sex couples the right to marry, regardless of the religious beliefs and preferences of others.

Because discrimination against gays and lesbians is unconstitutional, members of Congress have introduced four constitutional amendments banning same-sex marriage since 2002.
