Reproductive Choice

The constitutional right to privacy encompasses the right to control our bodies and the ability to decide – free from government interference – whether and when to become a parent. However, the Tenth Amendment and the powers reserved to the states are often invoked when it comes to regulating and restricting access to contraception and abortion services.

Many states have passed or considered laws that take away a woman’s ability to make decisions best for her personal circumstances. States rights’ do not erase Constitutional principles that protect individual rights - including reproductive rights.
